The Top 3 Questions You Should Ask in an Interview

Job candidates can have a tendency to focus on only the questions an employer is asking them in an interview. However, when you are considering spending 8 hours a day with a new company, it is probably wise to have a few questions of your own prepared for the interview. Here are my top three picks for questions. Please feel free to email me any questions that you feel are important when you are in an interview. (twoods@deltadallas.com)

1.  Why is this position available? Or …How many people have held this position in the last two years?
Your goal here is to find out why the last person left and if the company has a igh turnoer rate. A high turnover rate could be a red flag.

2.  Are there opportunities for advancement within this organization?
If you have a pulse, you will want to know that your hard work will be rewarded  with advances both in position and paycheck. This will also help you assess whether this company can contribute to the big picture on tyour career path.

3.  When can I expect to hear from you?
Asking when you will here from a hiring manager shows that you are interested in the position while allowing you to have appropriate expectations about a response from your potential employer.

Thank you, and we look forward to hearing your questions!
